An Interactive Workshop on Tariff levied by USA on India

The Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ltd in collaboration with Coal India Limited organised an Interactive Workshop on Tariff levied by USA on India today i.e on 5th September 2025 at 11 am in the conference hall of UCCIL.
The workshop was conducted under the chairmanship of Dr Prabodh Mohanty President UCCIL and Dr Sanjeev Mahapatra Hony Secretary UCCIL coordinated the meeting Vice President Industry UCCIL Shri J.k Rath,Vice President Commerce UCCIL Shri Murali Jamula, along with Shri S.S Mohanty Additional Director UCCIL, Advisor to UCCIL Board Er Ali Kishore Patnaik and Shri Monoj Prusty participated along with other dignitaries from various sectors, Shri Kamal Sahu Chapter head of Odisha FIEO and Dr Duryodhan Jena along with Ex Secretary UCCIL Shri Debabrata Das .
Hony Treasurer UCCIL Shri Narayan Kumar who also coordinated the entire food and logistics of the workshop meticulously
The Chief Guest of the interactive workshop was Shri Asit Tripathy IAS (RETD) Ex Chief Secretary, Government of Odisha.He touched upon the power of India s Economic and Trade History.He emphasized that in the current scenario of 50 Percent Levy of Tariff by USA on India the time has come to reopen the look East policy .He gave an very lucid deliberation on the impact of the tariff levied by USA on India
There were other prominent speakers who spoke on various sectors that are affected by the Tariff levied by USA on India.
Shri S.S Mohanty CEO Essar Minmet and Additional Director UCCIL on Steel and Metal sector, Shri Anjan Mohanty Head of Operations of Falcon Marine Exports & Dr Kamlesh Mishra President Seafood Association on Seafood sector, Shri Raghunath Panda CFO MGM Group on Textiles , Shri Krishendu Sen Executive Director Khimji Group on Gems and Jewelleries, Brig L.C Patnaik Think tank of UCCIL spoke on the Tariff impact on Indian Economy, Shri Udaybhanu Das CEO Kristeeler Aerospace spoke on tariff impact and how it could be addressed.
CA LG SHAH Chairman Taxation Committee UCCIL spoke on the overall impact of Tariff levied on Indian Economy. His book GST Appellate Tribunal was also released today
The concluding remarks and vote of Thanks was rendered by Vice President Industry Shri J.K Rath.
Overall the interactive workshop was indeed a very fruitful endeavour steered by President UCCIL DR Prabodh Mohanty.
