On 16th September at 5pm at UCCIL Conference hall an Interactive Workshop was organised by UCCIL on " GST 2.0 Analysis and GST Tribunal".There were about 80 participants which included Esteemed Members of UCCIL, Industry Stakeholders, Policy Experts, Legal Advisors and MSME Entrepreneurs
The session commenced with a Welcome address by Dr Prabodh Mohanty, President UCCIL.The President also highlighted the significance of the new GST slabs effective from 22nd September 2025.President UCCIL emphasised that the reforms would empower small businesses by enhancing liquidity, enabling scaling and ultimately benefitting the consumers through price Rationalisation
Shri Nihar Ranjan Nayak, Territorial Range Head CGST and CT, Commissionerate , Bhubaneswar who was the Special Guest elaborated on key decisions taken during the 56th GST Council meeting on 3rd September 2025 at New Delhi
CA LG SHAH CHAIRMAN TAXATION COMMITTEE, UCCIL provided a comprehensive analysis on the GST 2.0 Reforms describing them as a critical milestone in simplifying compliance , resolving Litigation and strengthening liquidity
He also brought out a handbook on GST 2.0 in a simplified way for the benefit of all Esteemed Members of UCCIL which will be circulated to All members by Email
Finally the vote of Thanks was rendered by Dr Sanjeev Mahapatra Hony Secretary UCCIL in his concluding remark he applauded the policy measures which will create a more enabling Environment for MSMEs and Enterprises across the state of Odisha
Amongst the other Directors and Advisors who were participating in the Interactive Workshop were Shri Murali Jamula Vice President, Commerce, UCCIL, Shri Kanhu ranjan Prusty, Director, Shri Ali Kishore Patnaik Advisor to UCCIL Board and Shri Monoj Prusty Advisor to UCCIL Board
There were representations from Mega industries like TATA STEEL, HINDALCO, Vedanta and JSL apart from a large number of MSME s manufacturers and Traders who also participated.
